2nd Week of Advent
1st
Reading: Is 40:25-31
Gospel: Mt 11:28-30
Jesus said, "Come
to me, all you who work hard and who carry heavy burdens and I will
refresh you. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me for I am gentle
and humble of heart; and you will find rest. For my yoke is good and
my burden is light."

Commentary
In
Jesus, we find a God who does not wait and remain passive while waiting
to be discovered through endless search. In Jesus, it is God himself
who takes the initiative of inviting us to be with Him, to be in His
company. Jesus offers comfort and rest to each one of us who is weary,
tired and bored. Let us open ourselves and allow God to embrace us
in His loving tenderness and care.
