the Ways of the Lord
Fr.
Camilo Maccise, OCD
126 pp., PhP 129, US $
6.95
The
Word of God comes to us in various ways throughout our life, not only
through Sacred Scpriture but also through the events of each day. I
believe it is necessary for us, right from the beginning of our retreat,
to face up to our own life. We are making a pause on our journey, not
only each one as an individual, but also we as a community. We are indeed
a community, gathered together in the name of the Lord, and we ought
not to forget this.
I
believe The Ways of the Lord is a fascinating theme. It will be good
for us during this time to pause to think about the way behind us. There
is a continual pressing invitation in Scripture to remember, especially
in the Old Testament, where God's people are urged to recall, to bring
to mind. "Remember how Yahweh your God led you for forty years
in the wilderness, to humble you, to test you and know your inmost heart
- whether you would keep his commandments or not" (Dt 8:2). We
ought, therefore to share our faith and recall the way we haved walked,
and this, if I may say so, should be done in the right way with a listening
attitude. From the Introduction
About the

Sensing
Your Hidden Presence:
Toward Intimacy with God
by Ignacio Larrañaga
336
pp., PhP 189,
Now on SALE: PhP 75.00
Secularization, as the author sees it, could be compared
to the dark night of the senses. It is the most radical purification of
the image of God. God is not the "maternal womb" that liberates
us from the risks and difficulties of life. This secularization, we insist,
is thus a true dark night of the senses. From now on, faith and life with
God will be a risky adventure
